My Story
Hi, I’m Michelle Roots, founder of Core Conditioning in Cloverdale, BC, a private fitness studio dedicated to helping women get stronger, leaner, and healthier for life.
​
With over 19 years of experience as a kinesiologist, strength coach, and personal trainer, I’ve had the privilege of working with women from all over the world helping them transform not only their bodies but their confidence and mindset around fitness and food.
​
As a lifelong athlete, fitness was always part of my identity. But when my competitive sports days ended, I had to learn how to train not to win a game, but to feel strong, capable, and confident in everyday life. That’s when I truly fell in love with strength training and discovered how empowering it can be, especially for women.
​
Becoming a mom of two boys and entering my 40s has deepened that passion even more. I know firsthand how a woman’s body and priorities evolve through life’s stages: pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. These experiences, combined with nearly two decades of coaching, have given me a hyper-focus on helping women feel strong, confident, and healthy through it all.

My mission is to teach women how to lift weights safely and effectively, build muscle, lose body fat, and achieve true body recomposition, not just chase a number on the scale. I believe fitness should empower you, not punish you. And that means learning to fuel your body, not starve it, so you can perform your best in every area of life.
